Tentera Mesir akhirnya berjaya menumbangkan Presiden Mohamed Morsi sekali gus mengumumkan pelan tindakan masa depan politik negara itu yang bakal dilaksanakan oleh sebuah jawatan kuasa perdamaian nasional. Ketua hakim, Adly Mansour telah di lantik sebagai pemangku presiden Mesir, bagi menegetuai pentadbiran kerajaan sementara.
